Deborah J. Carter, born in the USA and raised Hawaii and Japan, travels extensively, performing in festivals, clubs, and events, as well as radio and TV shows throughout Europe, Latin America and Asia. This composer and arranger works in various formations – from solo pianists to large orchestras.
Deborah names her favourite genre as ‘metropolitan jazz’. In her own words, “It’s a kind of jazz that reflects the energy and spirit of any capital city, in this 21st century, that has absorbed the influences and cosmopolitan aspects of its inhabitants. And it’s definitely a Saturday night jazz!”
