The already traditional Roda de Samba at the Bimhuis takes place with allures of celebration in its 8th edition: samba completes a 100 years in 2016. Brazilian, Dutch and International musicians led by Nelson Latif will pay a tribute to the genre revisiting the great names of samba history in an unforgettable evening. They will bring you the joy of Rio, singing, dancing, playing and jamming together in the vibrant samba rhythms and notes.
On Ipanema Stage, Deborah Carter & Estrella Acosta present bossas, boleros, and several other styles, in contrast with a full samba de raiz ensamble on Lapa Stage, featuring Vanja Santos & Viviani Godoy, turning the podium of the Bimhuis into a dance floor. The evening starts at 20:00 with 1959’ Marcel Camus film Black Orpheus.
